Met ex-colleagues for lunch at Jurong.
The CA is still cute,
But she seemed to have shrunk.
Some architect whom I seldom associate with,
Tried to convince me to be his free labour,
For the rest of the days I have in Singapore.
NO WAY.

Packed a whole chunk of drawings that I did,
Headed to Cityhall to meet Tiffy.
Weather was so good,
We ended up sitting around the fountain,
Sunning, eating, drinking, talking.

Met Huiyi & Meiwei at Long House,
To listen to stories about the expedition we missed.
It was great to see them again after so long.
Will be fantastic if Meiwei is to work in London!

Woke up too late to meet Frodine for lunch again.
Second time I unintentionally played her out.
She didn't reply my text,
Hope she isn't too pissed. :/

Watched an hour of The Fellowship of the Rings,
To get a last minute crash course on LOTR.
Didn't want to seem like a blur sotong for ROTK.

Dropped by to pass Bin stuff when I was in town.
Did some book-flipping at Kinokuniya with Liam,
Before bumping into Kay-lene near the LV shop.
Seems like Singaporeans are really rich,
Cos I always see a queue in front of LV.
Had a quick dinner at Sakae Heeren,
Then rushed over to Cineleisure for ROTK.
Very interesting story and characters.
I should have watched LOTR much earlier.
Shall try to watch Part I & II soon.

Self-preservation will begin right now.

Dad drove me to his Mom's place.
Argued along the way.
He thinks I am always trying to provoke him,
While I think he is always trying to insinuate things about me.
Uncle was nice enough to bring me bike riding.
Haven't touched a bike since last May,
When I rode a cub in Koh Samet.
Warmed up in 5 minutes.
The wind blew in my face,
Reminding me what is the meaning of speed.
Spent loads of money today,
On photos, a Beatles shirt & a pair of jeans.
Photos chalked up a $110 bill.
Auntie at the shop said,
'Your camera take pictures very nice leh!'
Thank you arh.

Fiona came over to my area after dinner.
Drank Baileys & Vodka Ribena,
Showed her Europe photos,
Drooled at Keira Knightley,
Talked rubbish.
Good to see you, girl.
All the best for your results.

Sometimes I don't want to sleep,
Because it seems like a waste of time,
Especially when my days in Singapore are numbered.

<<|
Christmas was spent celebrating birthdays.
Birthday lunch with Dad & relatives,
At some Heng Hwa restuarant;
Birthday dinner with varsity mates,
At the chilli noodles place at Far East Square.
Had a talk with LW about career & life.
Having thoughts of staying out of school,
Till the day I know what I truly want.

26th December.
Turned my hair ashbrown at Bugis,
Met May & Ashok at Chinatown,
To check out the new MRT station/line.
May & Ashok behaved like ang mor tourists,
Buying chopsticks and stuff.
I bought heaps of CDs.
We saw some Chinese acrobats perform,
Teenage boy threw a porcelain pot into the sky,
Let it land on his head.
We heard a low hollow 'dooonk' sound.
Ouch.
Lips joined us near Clarke Quay after Ashok left.
I left the girls to meet Sophir & Mark for dinner.
Super-filling meal at Hard Rock Cafe,
With the very loving couple.
Good that Sophir finally found someone,
Who knows enough to impress her.
Headed to May's place.
Lips came over too.
Slept while she was talking to her Mr. Germany.
Woke up and went Tango's for frozen margarita.
Saw Xinyi at the same place.
It's been two years since I saw her,
But she's still the same -- friendly & nice.

May gave me a mini bottle of Absinthe,
Green with 70% of alcohol.
She says one just needs a shot of it,
And it will last you the whole night.
Cool.

27th December.
Woke up in the afternoon.
Mom had a wedding lunch on,
And I had no appointments.
Carrie & I arranged to meet up,
But appointment was cancelled.
So I met FY in town instead.
Tried the Ben Sherman Beatles collection.
The design I want has no size,
The shirt with the right size isn't in my favourite design.
Think I'll pass.
Wanted to check if there was a Jack Skellington figurine,
So I walked into the comic shop at Heeren,
And walked right into Vanessa.
Was shocked, but not in a bad way.
Hugged, talked abit.
She had to run along,
So left with the last words, "Jack, not her!"
I also know.

Happy Birthday, Ronnie.
This is the first,
And likely last present.
Ever wanted something,
And then the next thing you know,
It is given to you?
This is what happened to day!
Lips came over in the afternoon of Christmas eve,
And gave me a shotglass chess set!
Best part was we've never talked to each other,
About me seeing it in London,
And she seeing it in Melbourne!
Thanks girl, it was a brilliant gift!

Celine called in the evening,
And we ended up at Sound Bar,
Where I met May, Lips (again!), etc.
It was like a mini-JC gathering.
People mainly from Med & Aki,
Loosely linked by mutual friends.
Felt very a bit out of place,
Cos no one has the habit of introducing each other,
And most of us didn't really know people around the table.

Celine dropped Lips & I around Boat Quay after midnight.
Popped by Mad Monks to see how Germaine is doing,
And got dragged to La Samba to get a dyke out for her.
Then I wasn't needed anymore, haha.
Lips & I continued our bonding session with food,
Some kopitiam 2 shops down Golden Cafe --- not very tasty.
Night bused back home,
Arrived before 3.30am.
So early today. ;P

<<<.
Tuesday.
Woke up at 2 in the afternoon,
Felt like a total sloth.
Took my time to get ready,
And left the house to meet Bin & Zeng.

Almost forgot how long it takes for 76 to go to Katong.
One hour --- yikes.
Had Katong laksa & otah for dinner.
Visited Joyjoy at Bin's,
Nette came over & we cabbed to Zouk.

Had quite a shock when we arrived.
There was no queue!
Met Tor and he was shocked too.
Jayne & Zeng joined us at the table.
Bumped into Yenzhen, Wendy, Kai, etc.
Changed tables when Bin&Nette went out.
Eurasian girl next to the new table was quite babe.

Jayne went to the loo & never came back.
Next thing I know,
A girl called me up using Jayne's phone,
And asked me to the loo.
Poor Jayne was throwing up pretty badly at a corner.
While I sat around to offer her plastic bags, tissue & water,
I also got Liamy to call to entertain me. :P
This Nisha person we just got to know came to help.
She seemed very experienced,
So all was good.
We must have been there for about an hour.
When Nisha came back,
We were still in the same position,
Though I wasn't on the phone anymore.
Had to drag Jayne out cos Zouk was closing.
Somehow,
Me who lives furthest from her had to send her home.
But looking at that poor girl,
I'm sure she couldn't make it anywhere on her own.
Off we went back towards the direction of my previous varsity.
Managed to bring her up to her flat,
And after some green tea,
Jayne collapsed on her bed.
After ten minutes of playing with her cat,
I decided she wouldn't wake up till the next day.
So I locked the doors and left.
Walked past the AYE to near NUS to hail a cab.
Suddenly living away from town seems so inconvenient.
And I miss the London clubbing mates!

Leading the life as if I'm jetlagged,
Though I'm totally fine.
Madness.
Getting lazy with my journals,
Stopped doing my accounts.
Spending alot on nothing.

<<<.
Monday started with going home.
Converted my quids to dollars,
Met Celine at Takashimaya,
Visited Bin at the shop.
She didn't seem surprised though.

Went for a haircut at Eve's.
She gave me this 'funky' haircut,
That I'm still not quite used to.
Some people think it looks funky,
Some think it is out of fashion,
I think it is just very British dykish.
Will dye it before I decide if I should stick with it.
Relatives aren't used to my black hair.

Met Bin again and had dinner with Yan & Jason.
Claypot at Richie Rich.
Spicy seafood's less spicy version is very spicy.
Met Joli & her bro for abit at Picnic,
Had drinks with Yan & Jason outside Scotts.

Borrowed car from Dad for the night.
Picked up Liamy, Ger & May,
For the famous Geylang tao huay.
Chilled out with drinks & crisps at May's poolside,
Before watching Bend It Like Beckham at Liamy's.
Keira Knightley again. [:
She is evidently skinny,
Especially in the scene she wore a bareback top.
Liamy kept exclaiming how about skinny Keira was,
And I said the pot was calling the kettle black.
LOL.

Rushed to return Dad his car on Tuesday morning.
Knocked into a shelf when I arrived home,
Causing bottles of fragrances to fall onto the floor.
Smashed a small bottle of DYNY-something,
Plus the cap of my Mom's Issey Miyake,
Plus my Emporio Armani HE.
My room smells damn nice now.

Monday, December 22, 2003

I woke up on someone else's bed today.
And it wasn't Mom's. ;P

<<
Yesterday was pretty eventful.

I'm still not used to waking up in the morning,
To Mom's voice at my ears.
Or rather, I realised how much I appreciate waking up in the morning,
To the sound of nothing more than my breathing & my heartbeat.

Went for prata before grocery shopping at Thomson Plaza,
Where I bumped into Val from TH.
Relatives then drove me to Serangoon Gardens for local food.
Where I had decent sliced fish noodles.
Where I also met Liamy for my first meeting-with-a-friend,
Albeit just a 5-minute catching up session. :D

Visited grandparents at their place,
Where I also met GodMom & her family,
And my fat little niece.
She was large but very soft ---
I was quite frightened when they left her on my lap.

Dad picked Mom and I up at 8pm.
Ended up at Orchard Hotel for a sumptous buffet.
Not advertising for it,
But it's only $39 for lots of seafood like oysters and crabs,
So I think it is quite worthwhile if you are into buffets.
Buffet also came with free complaints from Dad,
About how he felt he has been treated by Mom's relatives.
*shrug*

Gave meeting Sinsin & Lips a miss at HV,
Cos I had no transport back.
Made up for this loss by going to Liamy's place to watch VCDs.
Anyone within cycling distance is good for hanging out with, ha.
Her friend who was suppose to join us didn't come,
And we ended up watching only About A Boy,
Spending most of the time talking interesting crap, etc. :]

By the way, An,
Thanks for being the first friend in to text me in SG! ;]

Blogger's got a new interface again, eh?

<<
19th December 2003.
After a few hours of napping,
In between Johnny English, Matchstick Men & Turn Left Turn Right,
Touched down at Chek Lap Kok airport at 5pm.
Took Airbus A11 to meet Binjin at Admiralty.
Thanks to a traffic jam at Central,
The journey took a hellish 2.5 hours.
Took a bus from Admiralty to her HKU hostel,
Where I lugged 20+ kg of luggage up 4 floors.
Real cheap deal at 27.8HKD per night.
Her roomie was out for a few days,
So I got to share the room with Binjin.
Headed right out for dinner at Mongkok,
Where we met her friends:
Kathy, Fiona, Lina (danish girl), Lawrence, Angus, David.
I was sort of conned into eating a crap dinner.
Fish slices & crab with noodles, the menu read.
Fishcake slices & crabsticks with instant noodles was what I got.
Kathy said, "All the way here to eat maggi mee?!"
Wah lao, as if I knew it would be like that! :/

Gave our primary school chinese lao shi a call after that,
But didn't get to meet her cos she was nursing a cold at home.
Walked around Women's street/Tong Choi Street,
Ate the lovely smelly tofu from my favourite stall,
And bought a lighter for lighting up Sambuca shots.
(Good news eh, An!).
Arrived back on HK Island too late to get a tram back up,
So we walked from Sheung Wan tube to HKU.

20th December 2003.
Woke up at 9am, intending to run all my errands.
Binjin said she didn't mind going places with me,
But she took 2 hours to get ready,
Which got me a little impatient as time was running out.
Did the airport check-in at Hong Kong station first.
Then headed to a rather authentic place near Lan Kwai Fong,
To meet Shumei & Lina for Tim Sum.
Left them to meet Pam at Jardines House,
Where I passed her her lovely Molton Brown bodywash,
And got HK dollars in return.
Timely cash, I must say!
Charged to Causeway Bay,
Where I bought my Jimmy Liao books & a couple of VCDs,
Including Bend It Like Beckham! :D
Overcrowding in the region sent me back to Central.
Bought a bit of clothes for myself and family.
The salesgirl at the shop gave top service,
And was cute. :P
Met Binjin to pass her the MTR card & cash back,
And didn't meet Pam again cos she was too busy with work.
Decided to go to the airport a bit earlier to clear my leftover HK notes.
Wanted to buy candy canes for the little cousins & chewing gum,
But was short of 10-cents.
Very nice girl at Watsons told me,
"It's ok, just give whatever you have to me."
Wow, Christmas spirit is in the air man!
Watched yummy Angelina Jolie in TRII.
Wonderful day in which I smiled alot.
Landed in Changi at around 2320h.

Hello, hot & wet Singapore.

Thursday, December 18, 2003

Yan said this skin looks very Mac's.
Aiyar heck lar, I'm pissed.

Woooohoooo.
The architect came in at around 5pm today,
When the sky was dark.
I stayed at work till half nine,
Before joining Phoebe and her mates at CB.
Missed Angie & Abby cos they left early.
Bugger to the max.
Met Lexy's date Caroline (whom I also met at FK),
And had a lovely talk with her straight friend Sharlene.
Scottish girls are a tad friendly that Britons I guess.
There was this really cute girl near the bar,
(the other cute girl stopped working somehow!)
And SexyLexy helped me pass her a Xmas card.
Oh well.
Whatever.
Heck I think she is cute,
But she came with a partner.

Yesterday was drinks with the aki dudes.
We accidentally went into a gay bar,
And Jackson & Ernie were traumatised.
But it was a good session,
Especially the yakking with Jane & co.

I can't stop thinking about Keira Knightley's smile.
Urghs, someone help me.

Tuesday, December 16, 2003

It's half past two in the cold morning.
And I'm finally quite done with the new skin.
An indication of sole proprietorship of the club now.

+
For the first time since June,
I watched a movie in the theatres.
Love Actually.
Yeah, british film in Britain.
How apt, eh?
Glad I watched it though,
Cos it gave a nice warm feeling.

Very seasonal/timely movie,
With interesting little stories to tell.
Loved the story about the little boy,
Who gave all he could in order to tell the 'love of his life',
How he actually felt.
Also thought the story about the guy,
Whose perfect girl married his best friend,
Was a tad sad & touching.
And I thought he was a gay in love with his best friend initially.
Whoops.

+
Two things made me smile big time today -
The very gorgeous Keira Knightley,
And an email from Nicole.
:D

Small booboo regarding house keys again on Saturday.
Went downstairs to pick Jia up in my tees and slippers,
Only to discover I brought the wrong set of keys out.
And my flatmates were out.
Thank god I didn't step out of the main door of the block,
So I was just stuck outside my flat itself,
And that I didn't freeze to death from the cold in the underdressed attire.

Ming-weekend it was.
Went to her place on Saturday evening,
For a fingerfood & alcohol session.
We had only 5 drinks actually,
But chilled to some good music.
Walked from Waterloo to my place,
Where we watched the DVD of The Piano Teacher.
Very warped main character with shocking scenes.
Ming slept at my place till the morning,
When she left quietly to sleep properly at home,
While I was still in deep slumber.
Met her again on Sunday afternoon at Covent Garden,
And did some shopping around the Westend.
Snow+Ski totally inspired me to take up snowboarding next year.
Then I was reminded in Nicole who loved snowboarding.
She hasn't written for almost a month. :[

DVD of Pourquoi Pas Moi,
Marked a good end to this relaxing weekend.

Sunday, December 14, 2003

Laura was real nice yesterday,
Asking me to go home to rest at 8pm,
While she and Sasha worked on.
Joined the aki-gang for dinner at HK Diner ---
Ivy, Irene, Jackson, Ernie, NC & San.

Met Adrian at Oxford Street.
He brought us to The Social,
Where Jackson taught us red wine culture.
Some girl called Jemima chatted us up.
When we were leaving,
Jemima's guy pals called Nick & Scott spoke to me.
Nick was talking loads of trash,
Asking why I wasn't pissed,
Asking if Jackson was my boyfriend, etc.
So I told him No, I was gay,
Then he asked if I was a guy or girl.
Hilarious.

Bar hopped to Mash next.
Ended up mingling with some people there too.
Friendly folks from a graphic design firm.
Shireen joined us mid-way.
Mash brews their own beer,
And after buying the 'test package',
I concluded I like Wheat best.
Tasted like Hoegaarden.

San & Ernie left first,
And the rest headed to AA for some party.
Pretty boring party,
But we had a little tour of the place.
Crossed over to Adrian's place.
Indian poker, Vodka Kurant, Diet Vanilla coke.
Jackson got it big time.
NC concussed at Adrian's.

Walked home with Shireen and called Mom.
Mom's colleague was at our place,
Helping to repair my crashed harddisk.
Mom asked if I found a boyfriend here.
Yikes.

Woke up this morning with a headache.
Don't know if it was the illness or hangover.
Drank salt water & rubbed salt down my throat.
Ming called so we yakked abit about colleagues,
And I went back to bed.

Woke up again to a gray rainy London.
Hence that TLTR OST was played again.

Friday, December 12, 2003

New colleague is definitely nice,
On top of being hilarious and slightly ditzy.
Gave me chocolates to make up for this afternoon,
When she asking me to go downstairs to chat to her,
Yet was constantly on the phone when I was there.
"Thanks - but you know got sorethroat leh."
Teased her by telling her to inform me when she is going home,
Cos I need to celebrate the departure of my muse.
That poor girl was so confused about whether to be happy or sad.
LOL.

That same melancholic soundtrack was on play the whole day,
And the depression is really swallowing me alive.
Despite everyone telling me to stop listening to it, I persisted.
Mom didn't know how right she was,
When she said her kid is masochistic.

Thursday, December 11, 2003

Met Malcolm & his wife at Covent Garden today,
To pass him the Minolta SLR he has won over ebay.
Very friendly and nice couple in their 40s (I think),
Who bought the camera set for their son's girlfriend,
As they didn't know what to get her for Christmas.
I'm tempted to dig out whatever I have back home,
Related to the Minolta 500si,
And send it to them for free.
Afterall, it is the season of giving.

Despite Gigi Leung's unromantic voice,
And hedious rendition of Jingle Bells,
Listening to the OST of Turn Left Turn Right movie,
Makes me feel completely blue.

Wednesday, December 10, 2003

Finally wore 3 layers of clothing to work today.
Strangely, I have 3 pieces of clothing from U2,
With sizes ranging from XS to L.
Seems so ridiculous.

Decided to pay attention to my surroundings,
When I walk to work.

The Nickelodeon office is 5 minutes away from where I live,
With a life-size Spongebob Squarepants standing in the waiting area.

A ballet school is located right at the corner where I work,
And every morning, students crowd around the door,
Poised and fresh, waiting for the doors to open.

And there is a beads shop nearby,
On the road parallel to the street I work,
Alongside some retro clothes shops.

Love where I live,
And where I work.

Monday, December 08, 2003

Made crepes for lunch,
As part of the practice for my crepe party.
Had some with korma sauce ---
I do miss prata & murtabak.

Watched another DVD this weekend.
Wild Side starring Anne Heche.
Didn't know she was lesbian,
Untill I read her filmography on yahoo.
She looked really gorgeous in the movie.
Think my taste for caucasian women is establishing.
Wild Side was also set in California.
Why are all these shows I'm watching,
All reminding me of Nicole?!
And she hasn't wrote in more than 2 weeks. :(

Sunday, December 07, 2003

Great Expectations soundtrack playing,
Seems to be inline with my current mood.

French Kiss at Essence was bad.
Kaz was too attached to Monica;
Angela didn't feel like going.
What I really need at such times,
Is just a good conversation.

There was this Brit-HK girl who talked to me a little,
Held my hand abit and kissed me goodbye,
Before flying to other corners of the club,
To chat up with various other people,
And to sit on somes' laps, stroke somes' groins.
When we bumped into each other near the washroom,
She seemed as if she has never met me.
Hah.

Delroy (Serena's flattie) held a mistletoe wherever he liked,
So everyone got into the festive mood.
I kissed Serena.
She's really nice, always trying to make me feel at home.
Someone tried to feed me Cosmopolitan with a supersoaker.
But as luck would have it, the drink ran out so all I had was air.
Bah.

Lexy introduced her friend Jo, a girl of Vietnamese origins.
Jo is friendly and soft-spoken.
We headed home together while the rest were queueing,
To get into Turnmills for the afterparty.
It was so cold I could feel myself losing all feeling.

And I dreamt a strange dream.
Was out with Bin & Nette in a small store buying stuff Bin wanted.
Bin has gotten her bag of plastic forks and whatever else,
But needed just one plastic knife.
The shop didn't sell them in singles.
I saw a bag of torn plastic knifes, with some falling out.
Grabbed one and ask Bin to ask the shop auntie,
If she'd give her a free one since she's bought so much stuff.
Bin told the shop auntie,
'My friend said you should give me a free knife since I bought so much.'
I must have been more appalled than the shop auntie.
I remembered Bin & I then argued about that statement,
Her stand was that it was what I said and she was being truthful,
My stand was that people should have the common sense to paraphrase things.
I wasn't sure what I was feeling but it didn't feel good.
And there was this statement that came in the dream,
About how the person who knows you can destroy you.
It must have resulted from what I told Jill yesterday.

Woke up today morning feeling very unwell.
Will skip capoeira today to rest.
The flu bug has finally overtaken my body.
Been feelin' a little strange.
Don't think it is the fishhead curry at Malaysian Kopitiam,
That served me horrible salmon for friday lunch,
Which left a fishy taste in my mouth that wouldn't go away.
Partying tonight again at French Kiss at Essense,
Hope it will be good fun.

Thursday, December 04, 2003

Sold my Minolta Dynax 500si SLR for 60 quids.
Pretty exciting when the Ebay auction was ending,
Cos the prices jump rapidly by some pounds.
I've had this baby with me for 5 long years,
Since the previous one was stolen from my JC locker.
I am parting with something which has brought me beautiful memories,
Despite a depreciation of 70% in price.
I'm a sentimental person, really.
But I must learn to let go of what no longer valid.

Went pub-hopping today with Kaz.
Hope the alcohol will help me sleep better tonight.

Wednesday, December 03, 2003

Interesting day at work today.

New colleague at work from SG.
Flatmate's senior in school.
We only spoke over ICQ twice,
Saw her at the faraway waiting area this morning,
While I went to the pantry to get daily dosage of caffeine,
But I didn't really noticed what she looked like.
Emailed her to join a few of us for lunch today.

Laura & I bumped into Renos while waiting for PS,
So I invited him to join us.
PS was held up by Lars' induction,
So we headed off to Wong Kei first.
Renos looks Indian-Malay,
But he is actually Greek.
On the way to Wong Kei,
He told us was located in Brighton,
Cos his partner was there.
'Was she an architect?'
'Actually it's a he.'

Oh, enlightenment.
PS joined us halfway through our meal.
Finally saw her in person when I met her at the door of WK.
She called before I went up to meet her.
Firstly, she didn't sound like what I think she would.
Secondly, she didn't look like what I think she would.
Before we met,
I blatantly told her girls from this-certain-girls-school she was from,
Only fall into two categories -
The nice and sweet type;
The egoistic and narcissistic one.
She said she belongs to the loner type.
What rubbish!
When I saw her I thought to myself,
This is obviously type 1!
She has nice eyes and lashes,
Reminds me very much of Meiwei.
Urghs, I miss jiejie. :[

Mom's gone Taiwan for a holiday.
Fabulous - think it's a good break for her!

Sleepless.
Must be the late afternoon coffee.

There was a girl I used to talk to on IRC,
And later on the phone.
We could communicate,
Hold good conversations,
Share stories about our respective ones,
Ask each other for advice, etc.
Although we did want to meet up,
I never met her in person,
Because one fine day,
She vanished.
P o o f .
Like how smoke disappears into the air.
Emails were not replied,
Mobile number was not working.
I tried to re-establish contact in July,
And received a surprise reply.
Then it died again after a few emails.
I didn't bother to pursue it,
Maybe I didn't want to bother.
Why should I be the only one that bothers?
Perhaps she did have her own issues to deal with,
And hence cannot be bothered with a stranger.
Something recently reminded me of this person again,
And the good conversations we had.
It's so difficult to find a person to communicate with,
Shouldn't I just give communication one more shot?
So I just gave emailing another try.
Hopefully this shot doesn't miss.
If it does result in nothing yet again,
Then once again we have to admit,
People come into our lives and leave as they wish,
And no one can do anything about it.
