19th December 2003.
After a few hours of napping,
In between
Johnny English, Matchstick Men & Turn Left Turn Right,
Touched down at Chek Lap Kok airport at 5pm.
Took Airbus A11 to meet Binjin at Admiralty.
Thanks to a traffic jam at Central,
The journey took a hellish 2.5 hours.
Took a bus from Admiralty to her HKU hostel,
Where I lugged 20+ kg of luggage up 4 floors.
Real cheap deal at 27.8HKD per night.
Her roomie was out for a few days,
So I got to share the room with Binjin.
Headed right out for dinner at Mongkok,
Where we met her friends:
Kathy, Fiona, Lina (danish girl), Lawrence, Angus, David.
I was sort of conned into eating a crap dinner.
Fish slices & crab with noodles, the menu read.
Fishcake slices & crabsticks with instant noodles was what I got.
Kathy said, "All the way here to eat maggi mee?!"
Wah lao, as if I knew it would be like that! :/
Gave our primary school chinese lao shi a call after that,
But didn't get to meet her cos she was nursing a cold at home.
Walked around Women's street/Tong Choi Street,
Ate the lovely smelly tofu from my favourite stall,
And bought a lighter for lighting up Sambuca shots.
(Good news eh, An!).
Arrived back on HK Island too late to get a tram back up,
So we walked from Sheung Wan tube to HKU.
20th December 2003.
Woke up at 9am, intending to run all my errands.
Binjin said she didn't mind going places with me,
But she took 2 hours to get ready,
Which got me a little impatient as time was running out.
Did the airport check-in at Hong Kong station first.
Then headed to a rather authentic place near Lan Kwai Fong,
To meet Shumei & Lina for Tim Sum.
Left them to meet Pam at Jardines House,
Where I passed her her lovely Molton Brown bodywash,
And got HK dollars in return.
Timely cash, I must say!
Charged to Causeway Bay,
Where I bought my Jimmy Liao books & a couple of VCDs,
Including Bend It Like Beckham! :D
Overcrowding in the region sent me back to Central.
Bought a bit of clothes for myself and family.
The salesgirl at the shop gave top service,
And was cute. :P
Met Binjin to pass her the MTR card & cash back,
And didn't meet Pam again cos she was too busy with work.
Decided to go to the airport a bit earlier to clear my leftover HK notes.
Wanted to buy candy canes for the little cousins & chewing gum,
But was short of 10-cents.
Very nice girl at Watsons told me,
"It's ok, just give whatever you have to me."
Wow, Christmas spirit is in the air man!
Watched yummy Angelina Jolie in TRII.
Wonderful day in which I smiled alot.
Landed in Changi at around 2320h.
Hello, hot & wet Singapore.
