News of the day:
The RMT Union is taking strike action on
London Underground from 1830hrs on Tuesday, June 29 for 24hrs.
Tube services will be severely disrupted as a result,
from 1830hrs on June 29 and throughout the whole of Wednesday, June 30.

Grrreat.
Now I'll have to wake up,
At 7am in the morning,
Just to take a bus ride,
That will last more than an hour!
Thank God it is summer.

Finally got a copy of the book,
A Requiem For A Dream.

Stayed over at Ming's again last night.
Went through the CDs this morning,
Found an old Alex To album.
An old favourite song,
Was singing softly to me:
Even the most independent person,
Would love to have someone around at times.

Went to Brixton in the rain,
Saw the Capoeiristas performing Maculele,
And a runner carrying the Olympic flame.
All was gone in a flash.

Met a handful of people,
Over the past few days.
Joyce & Julie,
Ju & Mei Chern,
And also Jane P.

Went Clissold Park with Ju,
On the day I was ill.
It was a small park,
With a small cafe.
All was quaint.

The 'reunion' with Jane,
Was totally random.
(Yes Jane, I love that word.)
An unexpected mutual friend,
Hooked up two people,
Who met each other 3 years back.

Received an unexpected email from Van,
Saying happy belated birthday,
And realised she isn't in SG.
No idea where.

The surprises in life one gets.

Diarrhoea.
Medical leave.
At Harringey library,
Seeking medical advice from Tian.

Feeling rubbishy.
And my internet time,
Is rapidly running out.
Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Hyde Park,
Was definitely a blast,
Despite poor bar logistics.

Was good bumping into familiar faces,
All the way from last summer's Robbie concert.
Derrick is still the same relaxed dude,
Madeline still has her air of attitude.
Got to know some nice new people,
Resulting in a possiblity,
To go surfing in Somerset.

Sunday's weather was fluctuating,
Between rain and shine.
It rained 3 times,
And turned sunny 3 times,
All in a span of 4 hours.
This crazy London weather,
Has given me a high fever.
Bollocks.

Ben saw from his window,
A car parked across the road from our house,
Being set on fire by some kids,
And snapped some pictures with his phone.

If I told Ming that,
Ming would say:
'Jack! Told you Qi Jie Mei,
Murder rate very high!'
Little lines from friends,
Always makes me laugh.
Even when I think of them,
Out of context.
Like Liang's reply,
To Ruth's remark about wanting to see her cry:
Boo hoo hoo hoo.... x(any amount you like, e.g. 100).
Wahahahahhaa.

Company screened England VS Switzerland,
On the new large LCD screen,
In the boardroom at 5 yesterday.
Woohoo! Excuse to slack off!
This is welfare, man.

RHCP at Hyde Park tomorrow should be good.

Suppose life is fair.

Yesterday was full of bad crap,
Not counting the conversation with Sven,
And the tim-sum lunch with Jia+Col.

But today started off beautifully,
With an email from South California.
"...dont be silly, ... you are more than welcome to stay at mine.
... what accomodations would make you lovely homemade pastas?"

Oh man, I can already smell the coastal air.

I'd be safe and warm
if I was in L.A
California Dreamin'

Thanks for all the greetings, babes.
Typed an entry about the 9th of June 2004,
But a blogger error happily occurred.
Bugger.

So here's just a list of thanks,
To summarise the highlights:
1. Celine for a good kick off
2. Pipo + Belgo = Mussels lunch.
3. Softball game at Hyde Park against Alsop
4. Post-match drinks with colleagues
5. Surprise call from Beatrice
6. Candy Bar with Chelle
7. Bumping into Donna
8. French lady recognising me at CB
9. May's random call from SF
10. All others who remembered

I'm officially twenty-four now.
And I'm getting really scared.

Had tim sum lunch on Saturday,
With a bunch of Asian folks.
Met a couple of nice & interesting people.
Might get a chance to do some photography,
And perhaps even graphic design.

Met up with Pearls on Saturday night,
And she is now with this person,
Whom I know as a friend of my friend,
From my distant past.
Singapore is small,
And its gay circle smaller.
But I couldn't help but think :
How peculiar.
Perhaps I am just unable to cope,
When two worlds of my memory collides.

Was stopped by this girl at King's Cross,
Asking if I had any cigarettes.
Passed her my tobacco,
And she said I was 'God-sent'.
We started chatting for abit.
This more feminine version of Avril Lavigne,
Was certainly very friendly & cute.
We talked about music & stuff,
She showed me her doodle in her bag,
A rabbit that resembled the one in Donnie Darko.
She said she can't get famous with that,
But I told her to sell it as a cult icon.
Gave me a big hug before she left.
If Scottish girls are all like this,
Perhaps I should relocate!

Capoeira class got me aching on Sunday,
But I still went to watch Sisi kickbox,
At the park near Bermonsey.
Tried my hands at it,
But got hit on the head a couple of times.
Sisi surely kicks ass.
Think I'll stick to capoeira ---
I'm too polite for kickboxing.

Ended the day by dining with Ming & her sis,
At an Italian restaurant at Canary Wharf.
Fabulous pasta, risotto & tiramisu.

Great end to a horrible week.
Or is it a good start to a new week?

Shoulder length highlighted hair.
White long sleeve blouse,
With sleeves folded back to the elbow.
Bag slung across her shoulder.
Blue bootcut jeans.
Brown boots.
Confident smile.
Large eyes that twinkled.
Aloof, but friendly face.
The air around her.
Everything spelt V-A-N.

It was a surprise.
She truly reminded me of,
My first encounters with Van.
And at that moment,
I know I do miss the girl I knew,
Every now and then.

Went to Brighton again,
For a long desired break.

After an Indian dinner at Renos' new place,
Met up with Jo & her mates at Tzar.
Was her birthday weekend,
And Wild Fruit was in town,
So the whole group went for the bash.
Met the Asian I last saw at FK,
At the Wild Fruit event.
Heard that she is still the same,
Snoggin around alot,
And evading her Asian roots.
Had a smoke & drink session at Jo's,
And spent the night on her couch.

Left Jo's alone around Monday noon,
Because the weather was too lovely,
And it would be a waste to stay indoors.
Took a long walk to the lanes,
And laid on the beach for a while.

Peace.
If only there was no work on Tuesday.
