She left me feeling empty again.

Friday, July 30, 2004

Pensive.

It all started on Saturday,
After a conversation with
The first girl I ever loved in my life;
The girl who made me realise the difference,
Between the terms crush and love;
The girl who taught me to give;
The girl who made me understand,
That while unrequitted love is a great agony,
The ability to make the one you love smile,
Can make all the pain go away;
The girl who made me accept the fact,
That once things change,
There is no going back to the past.

This is also the girl,
Who has now become a lady,
To whom I told,
That although what is over is over,
I will still always love her,
In some way or another.
And to which she said,
She can't reciprocate,
Because she 'is not like that',
But we're cool as friends.
That's nice.

But, ...
Although I wasn't expecting reciprocation,
That bit in the inverted commas still pricked.
Like that ?
Like this ... ?

It is time to start reminding myself,
To stop noticing those special people.
Falling is extremely dangerous,
When there is no one there to catch you.
And even if I don't expect them to catch ,
They can still hurt one,
In some way or another.

Did you know that the Mller Corner,
Has a patented container design?

Overheard this conversation in Tesco,
Between a kid (about 5) & her Mum,
At the yogurt section.

Mum: Are you gonna eat this for breakfast?
Kid: Yes.. Mum, can I have this?
*points to Mller Corners*
Mum: This is not healthy, I don't think it is good.
Kid: Oh... .. How about this?
*picks a Mller-rice*
Mum (without even looking):
This is full of sugar, you might as well eat a pack of sugar.

For fuck's sake!
She must asking every single living moment,
Mom, where is my life ???
Why can't people just eat everything,
As long as it doesn't kill them?

I am glad I can happily eat my Mller Corner,
With Vanilla and Chocolate Balls,
Despite her words being an appetite-killer.

And special thanks to Mr. OKWin,
For solving the mystery of my Gmail password.
I am such a blind reader.
Kudos!

There was a familiar scent in the gym air.
I asked Bex if she was using Armani,
And it turned out that she had indeed used,
The silvery gold bottle of She.
Bex said I had a keen sense of smell,
I told her it was only distinct,
Because one of the ex-s used to use it.

And it occured to me today,
That all the girls I had close encounters with,
Had names ending with an 'a'.
Haha.

Been feeling strange and blue,
After a conversation with Xiao.
Hopefully when XY comes back tomorrow,
She can revive me once again,
Like she did more than 4 years ago.

Saw a System of a Down CD in MusicZone,
That reminded me of an Edison Chen album.
I decided to do a Google,
And this is the comparison -

I'm still trying to decide if they are similar or different.

Had steamboat dinner yesterday evening,
Held in Chelle's garden for her boyfriend's birthday.
Otah cubes, fried tofu, sweet corn, sangria...
Was bloated by the end of dinner.

Chelvin& I stayed over at Jia's,
Where the group of us caught Pirates of The Caribbean,
With the lovely Keira Knightley,
Who Dr. Sng thinks has a lower-bite problem,
And some say the handsome 'Legolas'.
Some people will forever be remembered as an elf.

Skipped capoeira today,
For Four Seasons duck rice.
Little wonder why I'm expanding.

What a nua weekend.
Good for me!

A surreal dream of stingrays,
An old lady who lived by the sea,
Among other random things.

This old lady,
Lived in a small flat,
In a HDB block,
Right beside the sea.
(At this point,
It is obvious that this can't be real.)

And every night,
The stingrays 'fly' straight up (& down),
Passing by her window frames menacingly.
(Don't ask me how or why!)

During my visit,
I noticed the flying stingrays,
And so I asked her,
'Shall we have barbecue stingrays??'
She said yes,
So I jabbed a stiff hook into a stingray,
Which was shooting pass the window.

Ouch.
It looked like it said a very loud ouch too.
I felt guilty for fishing.

Sounds similar to the story of Redhill hor.
Bizzare,  indeed.

Conversation this morning:

K: ...looks like my korean ex bf's mom. yah, she has a scorpio look.
K: looks like jamie cuaca... this taitai u see in tatler. her teeth v nice.
Jack:MOM! yeeeek

Jack: they do :(
K: ya lor. so u be careful.

I am so unobservant.
Didn't notice the new Blogger features,
Until Yali mentioned the blockquote tool.

I am having a terrible headache,
Trying to recall my GMail password.
Keying in various email addresses,
Didn't help in retreiving any passwords.
Bugger.

Nicole emailed today.
But my excitement,
Is being totally suppressed,
By my little but consistent knowledge,
Of the other Americans I've met so far.
It is seems so easy to be friendly,
And to speak about everything,
As if you are their good friend.
But in reality,
You are only as special as everyone else.

I declare,
Lee Hom's Ya Birthday,
Is a rip-off of 50cent's In Da Club!
No wonder it sounded so familiar!
Lee Hom's was named,
As the composer of his song.
So it isnt exactly the same -
That would be too blatant, hor.
But the arrangement, feel, concept...
It is just an inferior version of In Da Club!
Ya, got 'shorties' somemore.
Tsk!

Somehow everytime I return,
It seems a little tougher to leave.

Suffering from withdrawal symptoms,
Of cheap & easy access,
To friends & family & glorious food.

Many hours on Thai Airways,
Without any personal TV.

Through the clouds.
First came the coastline,
Then the green fields,
And then the settlements.
We were above Cantebury,
According to the monitor.

The density of settlement got denser,
And it became clear where we were.
The London Eye, the Thames,
The Millenium Dome, Isle of Dogs,
Earl's Court Exhibition Centre...
Touchdown came too soon.

Back in London.

Thursday, July 15, 2004

Touched down last Friday around 2345h.
Zoomed to cousin's place,
Before she left for China the next morning,
Cos it'll be a year before I see them again.
Got a treat of :
Chang Cheng porridge, Milo, Raw Fish.
Yum.

Watched cable TV while they slept,
And went home when they headed to the airport.

Trip home on double decker 166,
And I happily sat on the first row on the upper deck,
Snapping pictures of sunrise Singapore,
All the way from Chinatown to AMK.

Reached home in time,
Just to go out for breakfast,
With Mom, Uncle & Aunt-in-law.
Casaurina Egg Prata, Kaya toast, Ice milo.
Burp.

Went for a haircut at Eve's,
Met Celine & Yan,
Visited dear Svenie,
Went grandma's for dinner.
I miss her homecooked food so badly.

Next was aki chalet at Costa Sands.
Nearly lost my way,
And I was quite convinced,
That Singapore is changing faster,
Than my ability to catch up.
More food and freeflow of alcohol.
I unconsciously nodded off at 3 am,
With my head on the brightly lit sidetable lamp.
Uncle Chaw thought I was going to burn my head.
A very nice JY gave some of us a ride home.

Finally hit my bed at 4 am,
After more than 24 hours of landing.

Just when I thought I was over her...

On the day of the Big Gay Out,
This person marched with a friend,
All the way from Hyde Park,
Down Picadilly to Trafalgar Square,
Ending at Embankment tube station,
With a huge banner that read 'A Deeper Love'.
Sisi & Gail joined me somewhere in between,
And all of us took shelter under the banner,
When it started to pour.
The best surprise of the day,
Was when Thomas came up to me at Hyde Park,
Holding hands with his boyfriend.
Yet another gay colleague!
How exciting.

Heaven was a blast.
With 5 rooms of 5 different clubs,
Playing all sorts of music.
Worked at the door till 6pm,
Before going to check out the girls.
Kath was certainly very hot,
But Joyce said,
'Eyes off my DJs!'
:P

Ended up at Club Kali's room with a friend,
Who met her internet friend in Heaven.
The Bollywood music & indian dance moves,
Certainly makes me miss Singapore,
And its multi-cultural aspect,
Despite my usual liking for blue/green eyes.

Went to the Fulham house party half-high,
After passing the after-party with some girls.
Was great seeing the housemates after so long.
Gareth lost so much weight,
Plus he grew a beard,
So I almost couldn't recognise him.
And Laura,
The cute French girl from last year's party,
Was also there!
Too bad I still can't speak French.

Arrived home at nearly 4 am,
Despite having left the party before 2 am.
All thanks to falling asleep on the bus.

Spent half of Sunday moving,
And am moving bit by bit every weekday,
By carrying the 65L bag to work daily.
Tomorrow is the last day, I hope.

Before I fly,
I need to finish a chunk of work,
For the new Moscow project.

I am so knackered.

A little message,
To the designer-wannabes.

Incapable & stupid bosses exist,
To make interns realise that,
Despite their lack of talent,
Nor wealth of knowledge,
Nor uninspirational personality,
It is possible to climb up the ladder,
In those international practices.
Or even hop around them.
As long as you know how to do it.

Thursday, July 01, 2004

On the day of the tube strike,
It was obvious that waking up at 7am,
Is not early enough.
Spent 1.5 drowsy hours on the bus,
Before wobbling my way to the office.
Late, of course.

Something has gotten into Fan these days.
Juan & I can be having a conversation,
And she can walk through us without a word.
How bloody rude.
Fan & Chen threw a party in their room last night,
And used up all the utensils in the kitchen,
So I had to eat my dinner from the pot.
How bloody inconsiderate.
At half-past midnight,
The Chinese Party continued in their room.
Unfortunately the room was next to mine.
Knocked on the door,
And they didn't even hear me.
Thankfully Chen came out from the loo,
So I told him to tell them to lower their volume.
Through the door I heard him say 'shhhhhh',
But these loud Chinese boys just went on & on.
How bloody irritating.
Who gives a hoot if your father,
Graduated from secondary school or high school!

Today is yet another suay day.
Received a stack of poorly organised work.
When I called up Karrimor during lunch,
The guy over the phone told me the company has been bought over.
That means my bag is no longer under warranty,
And I have to pay for repair of their lousy production!

Urghs.
