London Open House last weekend.
Queued with XY & DD outside Norman's Gherkin,
In hope to get into the infamous building,
And rise up to 40 storeys above London.
No chance.
After 2.5 hours,
We were only 2/3 of our way.
Had to give up since we had an appointment,
For a guided tour at the Royal Court.

Royal Court tour was fabulous.
It is a very special building,
Incorporating the old & new,
With alot of quirky details.

Next was Trellick Tower.
London's Unite De Habitation.
Very post-modernist(?) building.
DD was quite disappointed,
While I kinda like it.
Nothing too upperclass -
Perhaps even low-class,
Because it was meant to be public housing.
I think the section is quite unique,
For a public housing of the late 1960s.

Visited the City Hall a.k.a. GLA,
On Sunday with Tori.
It is horrendous.
Interior space made all of us queasy,
Especially the spiral stairs.
Norman might have spent all the dough,
On the glass (triple-laminate!) for the facade,
Hence ran out of funds for the interior.
It looked like a space-object,
That fell into a space beside London Bridge.
It felt like a bad joke.
A bad joke that will go away.
And they called it Norman's Testicle.

Headed to Shoreditch Festival for abit,
Where they were playing all the raggae stuff,
Lotsa hippies, pot-smokers, loud music, etc.
But we found some lovely jerk-chicken,
That was worth our half an hour wait,
Before the cold drove us home.
