An analogy that totally cracked Krristy up,
For a continuous 5 minutes,
Plus intermittent random bursts of chuckles:

"... ex-s to me are like pets that ran away from home,
I will always have feelings of concern for them..."

Happy New Year :]

Old love letters.
Or should I say,
Random notes from ex-lovers?
Found together with,
Some copies of sent notes.

They were actually the exact stuff,
I was trying to find,
During the last trip back home.

A few of the 'complaint letters',
Reminded me of why I am fearful,
Of going into relationships.
If I am going back to architecture school,
What I just read are harsh reminders,
Of how difficult it can be,
To balance school and relationships.
There were also those days,
When I had to work mega overtime,
For this certain small urban design firm,
And that was the period,
When all things fell apart.
And the worries of boss asking me to work overtime,
Suddenly diminished to a non-issue,
Since I didn't have anyone to go home to anymore.

Most of them made me smile.
Like the one which declared,
That I was upgraded from a fling,
To that of a companion

Some of them made me laugh,
Till I almost cried.

Feeling slightly vulnerable tonight,
As I realise how much I could believe,
In all the intangible and invisible;
The conscious evasion of the intangible,
Has indeed gone on for a long time ...

I think I just messed myself up.

My last day of work today.
It was quiet at the shop.
The highlight of the day,
Was the Xmas party Krristy invited me to.
Met very chill people,
In a very chill flat,
Similar in layout to mine.
I NEED to do something about my flat,
Cos I don't want my room,
To remain ajoined to my mom's.
Yet I cannot stand to become,
A person who works for money.

I hate dilemmas.

WoW's CD launch was a blast,
With Timbre filled to the brim.

I think was a rather sweet moment,
When Yan introduced G by saying,
"This is my husband..."
I probably felt this way,
Since this is the first time I heard her say that.
And it is now official!

Drank nearly a whole bottle of red on my own,
Cos the date *ahem* didn't drink so much.
Fortunately the road block on the way back,
Didn't involve the police checking my blood alcohol level.
I must have arrived home between 530 to 6am,
Cos there was newspaper at the front doors of apartments.

Going to work today was a mild reminder of Tuesday morning -
While I was out with Audrey and Tracey on Monday night,
And we drank 2 bottles of Chivas Regal at 95...
It was not hard to see why Tracey is a drinking machine.
I must visit KL soon.

So many things to do,
So little money and time.
And I know it will only gets worse,
When people sell themselves to corporations.

By the way I'm now working at Parkway.
Don't come to visit without telling me in advance,
Cos the Botak will make noise.
Just ask Frank what happened !

One more thing,
I would like to start a design business,
By selling stuff at Red Dot.
Anyone interested?
Make contact - we could be partners!

One of my problems, I think,
Is that my imagination often gets the better of me.

My Best Friend's Wedding.

An atypical wedding,
For a very special person.

Yan is the first of our clique to get married.

I was slightly overwhelmed this morning,
To see her looking so beautiful,
Dressed in an atypical white gown,
With flowers in her hair,
Sitting there in her room.

We had known each other since we were 10.
The little girl has now grown into a woman,
And the act of marriage,
Sort of highlighted this fact further.
The feelings are too complex to put into words.

With infinite love.

Flew into the new Bangkok airport.
Verdict: I like it.
The transfer part is a bit of a mess,
But it is probably because the airport is new.
It has free wireless internet,
And cable points for my laptop.
What more can I ask for?

What have I been doing since I landed?
Got a haircut,
Checked out mobile phone plans,
Checked out broadband plans,
Checked out mobile phones,
Met up with people,
Attended Herstory,
Bumping into random people,
Including:
Jen whom Yan has been dying to contact;
WeeHun whom I was just talking to a friend;
Liam whom Vicki brought to Zouk;
And Laiming and Meishan !

J: Wah why you bring her to Zouk!
V: Raise the standard mah.
J: Spoil the market ah!

I still can't believe Liam had the luck,
To see one of the most boring nights at Herstory,
With a horrendous musical and repeated music -
Obviously this would be her first and last time there.

Today I landed myself a job for the next couple of days,
At Prints at Raffles City basement.
Might be posted to other shops sometimes,
But the job is basically to help to gift wrap.

During the interview, the lady boss said,
"Don't think you are better than the rest,
Just because you graduated overseas...."
Whoa take it easy, woman,
I didn't even say anything.
"You must be easy going, flexible, etc etc etc etc."
You know what?
In Singapore, that sentence usually translates to:
"You must accept low pay and work long hours, etc etc"
But if I am applying for the job,
Obviously I know what to expect, right?

I think I am a very professional worker,
So let's see how much she would like me to prove myself,
At least for while it lasts.

On the last evening in Sweden,
I saw a Swedish version of Nicole C.,
At the Kulturhuset DesignTorget.
Hum.
Bought alot of sporks.
I am not counting how much I am spending.

Today's weather makes it a great day to leave.
Blue skies, sun,...
Thank you for this final stillframes.

Byebye, Sweden.
Jag alskar dig !!

We don't say goodbye,
We only say,
"Vi ses snart."

Di flew in on Thursday,
From Barcelona to say byebye.
Good times together again, including:
Fish soup at Hötorget on Friday,
Brunch at String on Saturday,
And alot of walking & talking.
A goodbye family dinner on Saturday evening,
To bid farewell formally to the family,
Before sending Di off to City Terminalen at 3am.

After the dinner session,
Cat & Sofia surprised everyone,
Dressing up as Santa-s (with grey woollen beard!),
And giving presents to family.
A performance as praise-worthy,
As last year's Miss Pumpkin & Wasabi Girl.

Fantastic weather on my last Sunday,
Perfect for walking around Stockholm.
Visited Moderna Museet with Sofia,
And talking about how I will miss this beautiful place.

At times when things are so natural and wonderful,
I know this is the life.

Singapore web registrations,
Are mostly fucked up.
Why is the column for mobile number,
Always compulsory ??

How can they assume everyone has a mobile ?!
When there are still people in our country,
Worrying about paying basic school fees,
Footing their electrical and gas bills,
How can we make this kind of crappy assumptions?

Annoyance aside,
Eunice told me today,
That Sandy Lam's 要不要,
Is the new 主打 on fm933.
I hope it reaches the number 1 spot!

Finally caught one full episode of Grey's Anatomy,
Back to back with Scrubs.

I think I really enjoy medical shows.
Could be the childhood ambition of studying medicine.

One wonders why there is no sizzling shows,
About designers and architects.
Must be because these professions are over-stylised,
Especially the latter.
It isn't hard to imagine,
Falling asleep to a sit-com,
About drafting, meetings and not sleeping.
(Where can the comedy be?)

After 4 crazy days with Uli in Berlin,
Arrived in Stockholm yesterday morning,
Still slightly stone and rather tired.

After many many warm welcomes,
Stayed up to do additional stuff,
In preparation for today's Master thesis presentation.

Now it is almost official
- just missing the paper -
This blogger just graduated,
with Master in Architectural Lighting Design.
